Evaluation Draft - Question 4
Question 4
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
I used, the same as last year, to edit my music video, as well as my stop-motion, Abode Premier Pro. This year, due to experience I was able to use it more efficiently. I tried new effects and was more confident in my approach to using it. I used effects such as fading two images together. I used this frequently to fade from one image to the other, as well as with my stop-motion.
The stop-motion had to be bolder than the image behind, so I changed the settings on it. Before the task, I would have not have changed the effects on it as I would be too concerned about whether I would make an irrecoverable mistake, but I have more confidence in using the program to make new effects. I changed the opacity on both of the clips and I put them in different places to create the effect that is seen in the final music video where the stop-motion appears on the artist.
Also, I had to familiarize myself with Adobe Photoshop, as it is program I had not used before. With a little bit of help, I became familiar with it, adding effects successfully onto it and understanding the layout and the different tools I could use to create effects, text and colours. I used sharpening tools on some parts of the pictures, to get rid of any bad looking areas and to help the image look more professional. I also, learned how to fade on effect onto the other, much like in Adobe Premier Pro. I spent a lot of time with my ancillary texts, finding out different ways that I could approach them on Photoshop. I also did create quite a few drafts as I was going back and improving them and finding new tools to use.
