We have started to edit our music video for our preliminary task, which focuses on getting the lip sync with the song right and preparing us for the actual video itself. I am working with Alexandra Hacker, and we have already filmed the shots for our video.
We were given the choice between five songs available to us and we chose a Frank Sinatra and Celeste Holme song called 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' from the film High Society. It is a very upbeat and jazzy song, with the singers quickly responding to each other. Because of this, we decided that with each singer, it would mark the change when the camera cuts to each singer.
We decided to add a little to mise-en-scene and show the clear distinction between the female singer and the male singer by adding a trilby and a tie for the male, tying in with the era of the song, and we chose nothing for the female, so there would be a clear distinction.
Because of the rapid change in singer, we are finding it difficult to get the lip sync right with the fast-paced song and the length of the cuts are also making it hard because it is very fast.
