Planning & Research - A Nice Idea Everyday

A Nice Idea Everyday

(Vivien Wayrauch and Fabian Röttger)

Music video directors based in Berlin, but have done several music video's for artists across the globe, such as British solo-artist IAMX and for his music video 'Bernadette' (2011), where they both did two videos for the song.

They use the camera in the video in a very unique way, much like stop motion, but it has quite a shaky effect that is quite interesting. The themes of the videos are also very dark and mysterious, with mainly dark imagery being used, and it is quite surreal, their videos giving many meanings and are open to interpretation.

I like the way they have done their videos and they add a nice effect to it, creating mystery and darkening the themes of it, making it feel almost distorted and strange, especially by the use of the camera effects.

The artist in the video, IAMX or Chris Corner, is known for unusual costumes and make-up, and this style is shown clearly in the music video and the directors have done the video in such a way that represents what the artist is trying to get across with his music, which I like about them. The video itself also shows the themes of the artist, as the video is quite dark and mysterious, with thought-provoking imagery.
