Florence and the Machine Magazine Analysis
- The image shows the artist clearly, as well as much of her flawless skin. She is also reflected twice against a mirror, showing the surreal and unique style of Florence and the Machine clearly. Mirrors were used many times in her music video 'Cosmic Love', and it may be a slight nod towards it.
- The 'out monday' is separated from the title and is in the rough centre of the image so it can be seen clearly.
- Laura Mulvey's theories on the 'male gaze' can be supported here as Florence is showing a lot of her skin with her low cut top in the image, and her image is also reflected within the mirror, adding to it. She is also in a particular pose, revealing her neck and her jawline to the camera.
- The colours of the background are quite dark and show off the paleness of her skin, constrasting against the background, so the artist is shown more and is quickly seen.
- The title 'Florence and the Machine', as well as the title of the album 'Ceremonials' is done in the font specific to Florence and the Machine and her style.
- The magazine ad also at the bottom says 'florenceandthemachine.net' in block capitals, also advertising her website, giving her audience more and allowing them to access to more information on the internet, which is selling her image better.
- Her make-up, such as her lipstick is darker than her skin, making her look more desirable to the audience.
- The magazine ad is also advertising other songs that are on the album, giving the audience more and selling her more to the audience.
