Planning & Research - Digipak Mock-Up

Digipak Mock-Up 1

The Inside
I got this idea from my analysis of the Rihanna digipak. The digipak's show the artist as the main feature, which is why I decided to have the artist on all of the panels.

Because the CD would be placed in the middle, I wanted the artist facing outwards, towards the person opening the digipak. The other two panels with photos of the artist, when it is fully opened up would be facing the disk, so they would be 'pointing' or facing to the centre.

The expression on the artists face would be emotionless, much like on the magazine adverts and the digipak's I have analyzed.

The Front
On the first panel, I want the artist to be shown doing a performance, but a close-up of the artists face, showing the artist as the main attraction. On the back, where the song list is, I want the artist looking casual and at the camera whilst outside. I also want the song list to be slightly slanted with a less formal font, such as 'Impact'.

On the last panel I want the artist to be stood far away whilst the acoustic guitar is very close to the camera. If I find that this does not work for that panel, I think it could be suitable for the centre panel with the song list.

The Spine
I want the spine to be coloured black with the title of the song upon it. I also want the text to be in block capitals, much like the the Muse digipak I analyzed, as well as the Rihanna digipak I analyzed. I think that by using block capitals it would make it look much more professional. I think this would also contrast well with the other photos I am going to use as they are going to either be taken in natural light, or within a very blue light.

The aspect ratio is also wrong, and when I move to the software on the computer I will not make this mistake.
