Magazine - Draft Edit

Magazine Draft Edit

Improvements:

I took my teacher's advice and decided to change the effects on the font for 'Dreaming Out Loud'. At first, the text was clear, with just a large, light green shadow at the back so it stood out. However, my teacher said to change it and I changed to how I did the 'ONEREPUBLIC' logo at the bottom. I just gave it a black shadow and made the text white. I think by adding a shadow on the text it makes it stand out more to the reader and it looks much more professional than if it was left as normal white text without any effects.

I made the text different to the Onerepublic logo at the bottom so it would have more contrast. The handwriting style of the font for the title of the album looks more personal towards the audience and less formal.

I took a picture of a guitar, which is an instrument that features heavily within the song 'All Fall Down' which I did for my music video. I wanted to change the look of it so it looked more vibrant. I changed the opacity of the purple and green gradient in Adobe Photoshop, so the guitar could still be seen. I think how the colours of the tanned guitar and the purple and green gradient have mixed well together and have created interesting colours and have made the image look more professional, but interesting.

Also, I did decide to not just put down the website, but to also put down Twitter and Facebook as contacts so it would appear more modern and people can easily get access to the band's activities, other than the official website.

Oldest Draft:

For this, looking back, the colour seems a little too washed out, and although I like the effect on it, focusing on the acoustic guitar, perhaps echoing the style of music, it is not as bold as it needed to be.

The font also, my teacher and I felt, that it was not professional enough and that it does not look as good as it could. Also, looking back the title of the album is not structured, and the green outline around it, as well as the title being opaque. I think it looks very unprofessional and it could have been done better. Also, there is less focus on the title of the band compared to other fonts within the magazine and their size.
