Evaluation Draft - Question 3

Question 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

From my feedback, I can see that most of the comments were mainly positive about my work, but there were some issues and some things that I could have improved on that would boost my overall grade. Especially, for the video there are many technical elements that I could have done to improve my grade.

For the audience feedback, we all previewed our work with each other, screening our films together and then everyone provided feedback, both positive and constructive. We watched the music videos and then, we saw the ancillary texts. Everyone in the group provided both positive and constructive feedback for all media products.

For the music video, my feedback showed that most generally liked it and were positive about it. There were a few things I could have done to make it better such as a 'wider variety' of shots as some were 're-used', as well as 'glare on the camera', which I now see in my music video and I have learned from the audience feedback on what I could improve.
However, they did like the stop-motion effect within the piece and they liked the 'effect' it had on the video. Many mentioned this 'effect' and this spawned quite a few questions on to how I achieved it.

In general, they liked the use of black and white, and then the fade to colour as they thought that it worked well, especially in relation to the mood of the song and the tempo it, seeing as it is quite a slow song, with quite a lot of emotion. The focus on the guitar was also mentioned that others liked it the fact that it tied in with my other ancillary texts, showing its importance within my work.

For the magazine, the group was generally positive about it and they liked the lighting and the effects upon it. However, the group did mention that it looks rather like a book cover, which was not the effect I was trying to get across.
I have learned about which improvements I could make to my magazine in order to get better grades, as well as a better understanding of what my audience likes and does not like to see.

For my digipak, the feedback was still mainly positive about it, especially how it ties to my other ancillary text and the music video, showing the importance of the guitar, and the artist, using him again. However, I do think that there is room for improvement and the comments made on the texts and my final media product show this.
