Evaluation - Audience Feedback

Audience Feedback

The Music Video

Positive:
  • Stop-motion - The stop-motion got really positive feedback and people really liked it. They loved the effect it created within the video. They asked all sorts of questions - such as how I did the effect, how I filmed it and they seemed very positive and interested about it.
  • Good lip-syncing in the video.
  • Good song choice - especially for the actor I used.
  • They said that they 'enjoyed it'.
  • Good contrast and use of changing from black and white, to colour - they liked the colour change and the effects used to do that.
  • They also liked the layered guitar, strumming the guitar, as well as the foot tapping.
  • Composition - they liked the different angles of the shots - the contrast of the different shots.
  • A good establishing shot.
  • Slow tempo acoustic song - good with the long takes.
  • Feel the tension building within the music video - built up the emotion well.
  • Frequent use of the guitar - shows it's importance.
Constructive:
  • Focus of the camera could be adjusted.
  • A few more shots - a wider variety and more frequent.
  • The video does not fit the screen.
  • Some of the shots are a bit long in terms of length.
  • The glare on the camera.
  • Re-use of the same shot - more variety.
  • Not really a connection - not much of a story.

The Magazine

Positive:
  • Lighting - I had some really positive feedback about the lighting and the effects used on the guitar to make it look like that. The use of colour on it was well-received.
  • 'The simplicity and boldness reflects the mood of the song' - good feedback on the connections between the music video and the choices I made for the magazine.
  • Bold.
  • Big.
  • Sophisticated.
  • Clear.
  • It appeals to a lot of different people and people with different tastes.
  • The font got good reception, with many people liking it.
  • The guitar representation - shows it as important and key to the song and the style of the band.

Constructive:
  • The font could be a little bit bigger - not clear enough.
  • It looks a little bit like a book cover.
The Digipak

Positive:
  • Professional.
  • Relateable to both the magazine and the music video.
  • The spin is thinner which people liked in contrast to a larger spine.
  • Relateable genre and artist.
  • Clear.
  • The lighting and the guitar - people liked it, especially the quality.

Constructive:
  • The pictures of the artist - not everyone liked it, especially the quality of it.
